Untitled-17.png

The purpose and mission of the Historical Unit of Southern California (HUSC) is “to promote an understanding and appreciation for the men and women of the Armed Forces during the 20th century.” The overall goal of this association is to promote a sense of respect, pride, and loyalty for the men and women who defended their countries in their times of war. HUSC also strives to promote public awareness of the lives and tribulations of those men and women of the Armed Forces through training, battle reenactments, historical research, education, public displays, and other related activities.

The California Challenge Foundation, in partnership with HUSC, was able to provide Sunburst cadets with a unique field trip to a WW2 museum in Costa Mesa. Here, the HUSC Unit provided education with an engaging series of history-themed scavenger hunt activities and WW2 themed simulations including: flag communication training, Rosie the Riveter, basic training gear, and weaponry.
